AUTUMN TRAIL OF FIRE

It was the last weekend of September about 12 years ago. It’s part of a hiking trail between Rock Creek Lodge and Hilton Lakes in the Eastern Sierra Mountains of Calif.

I ran across this trail scene within the first hour. Then in about 3 hours, I hit 10,000 feet, and then the trail got really steep. I think the trail climbed another few hundred feet up. Then I arrived at another awesome scene that can be seen in my gallery. That artwork is simply called HILTON LAKES

Next time I’ll need to hook up with a pack outfit horse so I can see more lakes and cover more territory. I lived at Hilton Creek (AKA Crowley Lake) for 6 Years it’s a few thousand feet lower where this creek drains into. I had always wondered what those lakes up above me looked like but did not hike up there in those days. Glad I finally got to see it.
