This is Carson Peak.
Carson Peak is an awesome beautiful chunk of the eastern sierra visual magic that dominates the June Lake Loop. This really called to me to do an artwork that captures the essence of it.
Over the years I’ve taken time to think about and put my finger on just what it is that I like when viewing a landscape scene.
In this case, I stood on a friend’s porch thinking WOW what an awesome view, then the view stayed on my mind off and on for many years. Then back at my studio in the artwork I emphasize parts of it and tried to convey what it felt like to be there as well as express my idealized way of seeing and remembering it.
